Federalist Publisher Ben Domenech called out a “feckless octagenarian” federal government and warned “our unelected rulers are more dangerous to our freedoms than the elected” on Friday’s edition of Fox News Primetime.
“The real threat to American liberty is in the halls of Harvard and the boardrooms of Google and the cubicles of the New York Times,” Domenech said, noting Facebook’s censorship of former President Donald Trump and the yearlong dismissal of the Wuhan lab leak theory by the Washington Post and CNN.
He also criticized Democrats like Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and California Gov. Gavin Newsom for trying to mandate a “permanent pandemic” despite the lowest levels of COVID-19 since last March.
“The ruling class used the threat of disease to consolidate its power and it has used lies, violent riots, reeducation, corporate media propaganda, and tech censorship to achieve this,” said Domenech. “But it is a house that cannot stand, because it is built on nothing but threats and the kind of shameless hubris we have had to see to believe.”
That “cathedral” of elites, Domenech added, is “telling you what is happening now is normal.” Under a “normal politician like Joe Biden,” America has seen “a border crisis, pipeline destruction, job losses, wage declines, gas shortages, exploding inflation, taxpayer funding of abortion, war in the Middle East, trans craziness, weaponizing political power to crush conservatives in the military, and deficits going from horrific under the GOP to actually threatening the republic.”
Despite these crises, Domenech noted, “more Americans are waking up to the truth.” He compared the federal government to the Wizard of Oz, where “it seems in the moment like its power is overwhelming and eternal.” But bold patriots pushing back against the narrative can “reveal our federal government to be just a bunch of elderly men pulling levers, hoping if they say ‘amen and awomen’ they can white knuckle it to the end.”
Domenech added that these bold patriots include black and Hispanic Americans, who are not well-represented by white academics pushing critical race theory. These Americans “like tradition, they like marriage and manliness,” Domenech said.
