House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, and she was asked about the anti-America remarks of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
Omar made the following comment comparing the U.S. and Israel to the terrorist groups Hamas and the Taliban.
We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity.
We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.

Twelve Jewish Democratic members of Congress blasted her for her comments.
So, Omar then attacked those Democrats calling them Islamophobes. She “clarified” her statement that she wasn’t trying to compare the U.S. or Israel to terrorist groups, despite the fact that’s exactly what she did.
Democratic leaders issued the following statement, which Pelosi signed onto, according to Townhall.
“Legitimate criticism of the policies of both the United States and Israel is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate. And indeed, such criticism is essential to the strength and health of our democracies,” stated Pelosi along with Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark (D-MA), Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Caucus Vice Chair Pete Aguilar (D-CA).
“But drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all.”
“We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban,” House Democratic leaders added.
But when asked on Friday about the comments by Omar, Pelosi refused to condemn Omar or her remarks, saying that she had “clarified” them. Nor did Pelosi condemn Omar’s attacks on the Jewish Democrats. In fact, as we reported, Hamas criticized Omar for equating them with the U.S. and Israel more than Pelosi did.
